the names are those of their parents, obviously. Amy, after marrying Shannon, would not lose her maiden name, and so was formed the compound surname.
the second child's name was Amy's father. the truth is I'm not sure if Mr Hardy actually called so, but it is a name that, in particular, I like it.

the name of the kid, Sid, is by the late singer of the Sex Pistols, Sid vicius. I love the Sex Pistols, and Sid vicius seemed to me a very interesting man. besides, I imagined Amy singing songs of the Pistols to the baby. so not only inherited that name, but also an ability some irreverent.
